Mangalore: Dakshina Kannada District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Karnataka State Women’s Commission, Bengaluru Women and Child Development Department and District Stree Shakthi Federation, Mangaluru had jointly organised International Women’s Day – 2022 at Netravathi auditorium of Zilla Panchayat here.

On the occasion, Anagha Rajesh, who has won many medals in sports was honoured with Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma awards for outstanding achievement in sports. Anagha, at the age of four, started her skating training and participated in district, state, national and international level skating championships, earning a total of 26 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.

Now 12 years old,  she is the daughter of Dr Rajesh Hukkeri and Dr Anita Rajesh, a resident of Kadri Hills, Mangaluru. Anagha Rajesh is a 6th-grade student at Lourdes Central School, Bejai and is being trained by International Skating Coach Pratik Raja in Bengaluru.

Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangalore City Corporation Mayor Premananda Shetty, President of Tulu Sahitya Academy, Dayananda Kathalsar, and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Kumar were present.
