Mangaluru: Though Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader has already written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking direction with regard to the proposal of modernising Kudroli slaughterhouse under smart city project, he has reportedly received response from the Prime Minister so far.

Khader confirmed this during a press conference held at Circuit House on Saturday, November 17. He said, “I have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi nearly a month ago seeking his direction whether to include the proposal of modernising slaughterhouse under smart city project or exclude it. However, I did not receive any response from PM’s office so far. Hence, I will write another letter to the PM, in order to remind him aboutmy previous letter and to get a logical end to this controversy“, he said.

The proposal of modernising Kudroli slaughterhouse under smart city project has witnessed a wide debate between ruling party and the opposition party in the state. If the Congress defended the move, the BJP leaders opposed the same citing the reason that even Pollution Control Board (PCB) also did not renew its permission and slaughterhouse is functioning illegally.
