Bantwal: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan has said that the coastal belt folk sport “Kambala” would be encouraged by the state government and financial assistance will be extended to the sport.
Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony of historically famous Veera-Vikrama Jodukare Bayalu Kambala on Saturday, December 7, he said, “The state government is always there to support the folk sport ‘Kambala’ and if you wish to bring the sport to Bengaluru, then the government will be ready to extend support. The Kambala committee has brought to the notice of the government about the issues being faced. We all are young leaders and we will definitely stand united to resolve the issues.”
MLAs Rajesh Naik, Harish Poonja, former minister Nagaraj Shetty, BJP spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal and other political leaders and dignitaries were present.
