Mangaluru: Campus Front of India staged a protest in front of Milagres College at Hampankatta opposing the denial of exam hall tickets to 22 students on Thursday, October 27.

The students protesting outside the college alleged that initially as many as 90 students were denied hall tickets. All except 22 belonging to a single community were finally handed over the hall tickets, they alleged.

The 22 students along with their parents said that they were asked to meet the principal as their wards had attendance shortage. The parents have been coming to the college since 7 days, but were denied the permission to meet the principal. Bunder police inspector Shantharam with his team visited the spot and took the situation under control.

Principal of Milagres College, Fr Michael Santhumayor is on leave after being hospitalized last week. He was assaulted by a student named Mohammed Shahnawaz.
