Mangaluru: In a new twist to the Sundar Malekudiya case, a complaint has been registered against Sundar accusing him of allegedly attacking Gopala Gowda’s sister.
Sundar Malekudiya, resident of Kataje village in Belthangady taluk, was allegedly attacked by Gopala Gowda on July 26. The incident occurred when Sundara tried to prevent Gowda from clearing the jungle in the former’s land in Kataje village. Gowda attacked him with a weeding machine that left Sundar’s arm almost severed, while four fingers were chopped off.
Damayanthi, Gopala Gowda’s sister has sent a letter addressed to SP Sharanappa S D on August 20 and in her complaint she has accused Sundar of attacking her with a sharp weapon that led to injury on her hand.
The complaint was registered at Belthangady police station and it would be investigated only after Damayanthi appears before the police and records her statement, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar.
Damayanthi has been reportedly absconding.
