Mangaluru: Mangaluru MLA U. T. Khader demanded District Administration and Police Department to take strict action against people who create confusion and disturbances in the society through social media.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday May 7, Khader said that strict action should be taken against the deed of disturbing peace undertaken by the Muslim Defence Force in the District. He also stressed on an appropriate legal action against those behind the act. They are doing this anonymously without any pragmatism. The Government needs to curb such activities, and Government’s negligence of the same will prove fatal to the society and will be an act of betrayal towards the society, he said and questioned as to what is the District In-Charge Minister doing about this. He also added that action was taken against such incidents when we were in power.
Stating that peace and harmony in the District is the most important to us, Khader said, “let’s not speculate why one is visiting the office of Police Commissioner. It is not right to put false allegations without knowing the entire truth. In fact anyone can visit the Police Commissioner’s office. And it is not right to malign the officer and thus sow distrust among the public against the police. People who write against the Police Commissioner will write fabricated matters anonymously. As peace is important in ten District, I challenge the persons writing against police instead go to his office and directly discuss with the officer, said Khader expressing his ire on people who are working against the Police Commissioner.”
Further, he said, “it looks like a BJP MLA from the State has kept the Chief Minister’s post for auction. The price for the CM’s post too has been announced. This is an insult to the people of Karnataka.”
Khader said that the BJP as a party has failed to meet the expectations of the common man. In order to hide their failure they are working actively to entice people from Congress as they know their candidates will not win them seats. Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj is likely to join the BJP, he added.
