Mangaluru: Sri Rama Sene urged the government officials to take action for stopping the sound pollution generated by using loudspeakers.
In a press meet held here on Thursday September 30 State General Secretary Anand Shetty Adyar said, “According to the Supreme Court orders the State has demolished the illegally built Hindu temples immediately. However, 21 years ago, the High Court has issued an order restricting the use of loudspeakers and all the other media from 10.00 pm to 6.00 am to control the sound pollution, he said and questioned, “why this Court order has not been implemented yet?”
He informed that according to the orders of the High court only a limited frequency of sound is allowed after 10.00 pm to 6.00 am. Hospitals, Courts, Government offices, Education centres, Housing societies, temples, mosques and churches were announced as silent regions. Yet the court orders have not been followed till date and the Government, elected representatives, police, pollution control boards have neglected the orders, which is clearly contempt to court, he noted.
He called for a protest on October 7 against this across State in all the taluk centres.
District President Pradeep Moodushedde, District Vice President Harish Bookkapattana, Kishore Sanil, Venkatesh Padiyar and others were present.
