Traffic police to undertake special operation against law violators from Sept 27 to Oct 2

Mangaluru: The Additional Police Commissioner, Traffic Subdivision, Mangaluru in a circular dated September 26 has informed that a special action against violators of traffic rules will be undertaken by the Traffic Police Department beginning Monday September 27. The special operation will be held up to Saturday October 2.

According to the circular, on September 27, for use of black film/other materials on the glass of vehicles, the vehicle users will be fined Rs. 500 under the 177 MV Act. Under the same act, those who have defective registration number plates will be fined on September 28 with the above-mentioned amount.

For riders or pillion riders not wearing helmet, they will be fined with Rs. 500 under 194-D MV Act on September 29. Further, uninsured vehicles will be fined Rs. 1000 for 2/3 wheeler, Rs. 2000 for LMV, Rs. 4000 for HGV, under the 196 MV Act on September 30.

On October 1, un cleared old cases will be checked, and on the final day of inspection, October 2, vehicles without emission test will be given court notice under 115 R/w 190 MV Act.
