Mangaluru: The City Police Ground turned into a hound party adda as more than 250 people got together to display various exotic breeds of dogs in the National level dog show organised by Karavali Canine Club on Saturday, November 12. Several breeds of dogs were exhibited by their owners who came to Mangaluru from all over South India.
Exotic dog breeds like Siberian Husky, Afghan Hound, Saint Bernard (one in Beethoven movie), Great Dane (the Scooby Doo), German Shepherd, Akita (one in Hachiko), Dachshund, Beagle, Pug and Pitbull among many others won the hearts of dog enthusiasts who visited the event. Dog owners from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and many parts of Karnataka drove all the way to Mangaluru to exhibit their best friends.
The dog owners were seen grooming their dogs and helping them practise the tricks. Heather Marison from Australia, Stanley Sim from Singapore, T Preetham and D Krishnamurthy of India judged the dogs under various categories.
Dog lover and Member of Parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel was seen walking a German Shepherd after inaugurating the exhibition. Several Indian dog breeds like Common Indian Mongrels, Cheppipera, Mudhol and Rajapalya were also seen at the show.
The canine exhibition will also take place on Sunday, 13 November at the same venue.
