Two arrested for obstructing police from discharging duty in Thota Bengre

Mangaluru: The Panambur police arrested two persons for allegedly obstructing them from discharging their duty, on Friday, December 21.

The arrested have been identified as Sharavan alias Chanu (24), son of Late Sudhir and resident of Mogaveeraptna, Ullal and Vijith alias Shivaraj Kumar (26), son of Koosappa Salian and resident of Thota Bengre.

The two are rowdy sheeters with Shravan having five and Vijith having two pending cases related to attempt to murder and extortion among others, at the Ullal and Panambur police stations.

According to police sources, the accused, along with two others- Rameeth and Akash, allegedly obstructed the beat police from discharging their duty in Thota Bengre on December 20. The accused also allegedly used foul language to abuse the police.

The cops managed to arrest Shravan and Vijith, but Rameeth and Akash managed to escape and are still at large, police sources added.
