Mangaluru: Two persons have been detained by the Ullal police on charges of assaulting a school bus driver at Thokkottu few months back.
The accused are identified as Asif (23) and Syed Ummer Koya (25) a resident of Madoor village.
On April 13, 2015, a group of men assaulted a private school bus driver, alleging that he had molested a UKG student of the school. The mob also entered a private hospital premises where the child was admitted for medical tests at Thokkottu and damaged a school bus and a police van. They attacked the media persons too and the police had to disperse miscreants with teargas shells to bring the situation under control.
The accused involved in the violence were absconding, however, on Tuesday December 1, a police team led by sub-inspector of Ullal, Bharati, raided several houses at Madoor and took four persons into custody. Meanwhile, two persons were released after questioning as they were not involved in the violence.
