Kasargod: As much as 4.9 kg of ganja was seized by the Badiyadka police as they detained two persons involved in drug peddling on Monday. Another accused managed to escape.
They have also confiscated the car used for illegal sale of the contraband.
Faizal (27) from AKG Nagar in Seethamgoli and Abdul Rauf (29) are the arrested.
On Sunday, while the police was on regular patrolling, they found a car parked on the Seethamgoli to Kasargod road in a suspicious manner. When they went closer to check, one accused escaped from the spot. When they questioned the other two persons who were in the car, they reportedly gave contradictory replies. On checking the car, they found ganja in it.
Police are on a lookout for Shabbir who is absconding.
According to police sources, the arrested persons were habitual ganja peddlers, who used to supply ganja to the agents in Kasaragod. They have been sent for further questioning.
