Two Lakshadweep bound vessels capsize due to Ockhi cyclone

Mangaluru: In an unfortunate incident, two vessels Al-Noor and Jevar Hussain capsized on Friday near Kavaratti Isalnd in Lakshadweep, due to cyclone Ockhi.

It is learnt that the vessels left Mangaluru Old -port carrying groceries and construction materials.

Al-Noor vessel from Lakshadweep has six crew members and other from Tutticorin had eight members. Turbulent sea condition triggered by cyclone Ockhi has left the boats capsized.

According to sources, it learnt that all the crew members in the vessels were rescued by the Indian Cost Guards, however the same is yet to be confirmed.
