Under trial jumps off running train, escapes

Kasaragod: An under trial jumped off a running train between Kasaragod and Manjeshwar railway stations, hoodwinking accompanying police team on November 3.

Prakash Kumar Shone(40), resident of Odisha is accused in several temple theft cases. Police were accompanying him on Chennai bound west coast express to produce him in a court in Mangaluru.

Four cops were accompanying the under trial when he managed to hoodwink them to jump off the slow moving train after it left Kasaragod police station.

Kasargod railway police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have launched a massive hunt to trace him.

Accused shone is involved in 7 major temple theft cases including Kadri temple, Mangaluru and Jain temple in Moodibidri, revealed RPF police.
