Mangaluru: What would a teenager born with political lineage be like? For all the answers that the question may bring to you, here in Ullal, lives 13-year-old Hawwa Naseema, daughter of none other than Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs U T Khader , who believes in simplicity- a sharp contradiction!

While Hawwa could have joined the most reputed institutions anywhere in the country or even abroad, she chose Islamic Studies and was recently conferred the title ‘Hafiza’ as she could recite the Holy Quran by heart. The Quran in itself has 144 chapters and 6,236 sentences and knowing it by heart is surely a rare feat for a 13-year-old to achieve. Tanfeezul Quran Women’s College, where she is pursuing the Quran studies honoured Hawwa for her achievement.

She is one among the very few girls in the community to have learnt the Quran by heart. It is learnt that Hawwa took only three-and-a-half years to learn the Quran by-heart. She began learning it at Madra-ssathul Bayan, Adkathbail in Kasaragod district of Kerala. She then joined Tanfeezul Quran Women’s College at Konaje, where she was coached by Al-Hafiza Sumayya. After this marvelous feat, she intends to take up the Alimah programmes from well-known university like Islamic University of Madinah.

They say, simplicity of Hawwa Naseema, who was named after Khader’s mother is such that she has never worn even a piece of gold so far. However, reciting Quran with all devotion, Hawwa touched the first gold of her life!
