Mangaluru: Many loopholes having been encountered in the voters’ list for Vidhana Sabha constituencies, Minister for Health and Family Welfare on Monday January 18, gave a deadline of 10 days to the Village Accountants to set things right.

After a few present in the meeting complained that the names in the voters’ list are being erased due to vested interests of certain influential people, Khader ordered the Village Accountants to pay door-to-door visits and add the missing names after obtaining suitable documents from the public.

Khader, who held a meeting with the government officials comprising Village Accountants and Tahsildars among others, said that though the State government has been introducing several schemes for the poor, they are not reached to the commoners at the Gram Panchayat level mainly due to technical glitches. Lax attitude by the officials concerned also being one of the reasons, he ordered them to be disciplined and ensure that the schemes reach the beneficiaries on time.
