Mangaluru: A picture of a notice issued on letter head of Manipal University, in the name of MIT Chief Warden Col M S Kalakoti went viral on social networking platforms, literally reducing the reputed institution to mere laughing stock.

manipal wank off circular

The notice had left many eyebrows raised because it told the male students of the institution not to masturbate under showers as the drains are not designed to handle semen. The circular dated 20-12-2016 further stated that the students could hence jerk off inside their own rooms!

“It is a violation of the Manipal Servicecorp Facility Management (MSFM) guidelines. The maintenance of semen-clogged drains is costly and, it will be reflected in the hostel fees next year. Students have to bear the expenses from their pockets to clean the drain blockage,” the circular reads.

However, sources have informed that MIT Director Dr G K Prabhu will be filing a complaint with cyber crime police against the ‘fake’ circular.

When contacted, several students from MIT too said that the circular was fake and that they had never come across any such circular neither in the hostel nor in the college premises.

Many such circular of reputed institutions worldwide on the same topic can be found on the internet. Even those circulars had created buzz, only to be found to be fake later. The Manipal University circular is fake, claim the authorities and the students.
