Mangaluru: An incident wherein two private bus drivers in an attempt to overtake each other turning lives of passengers of both the buses was reported from Vittal road in the Dakshina Kannada District on Friday March 11.
The drivers on Vittal – Salethur road in an attempt to overtake let the caution to wind and flouted all possible rules. The competition to overtake each other resulted in one of the buses colliding with the other from the rear. This put poor passengers too in a panicky mode.
Though both the buses were damaged, luckily the passengers escaped unhurt. The traffic on the route too was affected, and public were angry. Vittal police has registered a case for negligent driving and breaking of traffic rules.
