Women, rural communities must get priority in vaccination drive: Shalet Pinto

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Women’s Congress president Shalet Pinto has urged the state government to give priority to women and rural communities in the vaccination drive against Covid 19.

She said this at a press conference held here in the Congress office on Friday, June 4.

Women workers should be given priority in the Corona package. The state government had to provide special privileges to the family of widows and transgenders, she said. The district administration should ensure that all the hospitals must give special attention to the pregnant woman while treating, she added.

Former Mayor Jacinta Alfred, District women’s Congress General Secretary Shobha Keshav, Block President Namitha D Rao, Former MCC member Sarla Karker, Women Congress Leaders Sanjana Chalavadi, Vidya, Chandrakala Rao, and Tanveer Shah were also present.
