Mangaluru: In a brief visit to the BJP office in the city, State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa mentioned that he was looking forward to welcoming Srinivas Prasad back into the party. The state BJP leader came to Mangaluru for a day’s visit on behalf of Deepavali on Sunday, 30 October.
He addressed the gathering and said that Congress Leader Srinivas Prasad who recently resigned from the party is now looking forward to joining BJP. “Srinivas Prasad had an RSS background and he was a legislator in the Vajpayee Government. It will be a pleasure to welcome him back into our party as we all know Congress is going through a bad time now. Prasad will organize a meeting in Mysuru on November 7 where he will declare his new stand”, he said.
He went to on to say that senior Congress leaders Janardhana Poojary and H Vishwanath also has mentioned about the downfall of Congress party after the recent incidents which made people lose faith in them. “I am informed that the next election will be held 4 months before the end of term. We are ready to make a difference in the society”, he added.
Speaking about the gesture made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by celebrating Deepavali with the soldiers at China border, Yeddyurappa said, “The BJP leaders in Karnataka were inspired by the move made by PM Modi this Deepavali. Ananth Kumar, D V Sadananda Gowda and I spent our Deepavali morning with BSF personnel in Bengaluru by exchanging sweets and greetings.”
After his address to the press and party workers, Yeddyurappa made his way to Star Night conducted by Kadri Cricketers at Kadri Ground.
