Mangaluru: In a tragic incident reported from Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada District on Wednesday September 1, a 19-year-old drowned in river at Kemmara.
The deceased has been identified as Shafique (19), a local resident, who got into the river. He drowned owing to river current which is high due to incessant rains in the Western Ghat region for somedays now.
The Fire and Emergence Services Department personnel and Uppinangady Police have rushed to the spot and the search operation for Shafique’s body is on.
