Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth identified as Sumanth succumbed to his injuries after being involved in a bike-van collision on December 8.
The Chikkamagaluru native, who is an employee of a private company in Bengaluru, met with an accident while riding on his bike from Mangaluru to Chikkamagaluru and succumbed to his injuries later. The pillion rider, identified as Arun Kumar, survived with minor injuries.
This is the second brutal accident to occur at the same spot within a week. On December 6, there was another accident involving a 19-year-old rider, who met his death after his bike rammed into the divider.
As per reports, Sumanth and his friends, travelling on three bikes, came down to Mangaluru to tour the popular sight-seeing places of the coastal area. The group met with the accident while on their way to the beaches of the city, after having visited several of tourist places, including Dharmasthala.
