Mar 26: A youth from neighbouring Kasaragod district has reportedly gone missing upon his arrival at Mangalore by a flight from Dubai on March 21. A case in this regard has been filed in Pandenshwar Police station.
The missing youth identified as Mohammed Ashraf (24), son of Muhammed Kunhi from Trikkaripura in Kasargod district has reportedly become untraceable since his arrival at Mangalore.
The family is said to have received a call from Ashraf after he reached the city on March 21. He had called from a coin box near State Bank Circle in the city to inform the family of his safe arrival. He informed that he would be visiting a friend named Munif in Bangalore and similar information was conveyed to a person named Ibrahim in Dubai over phone.
Muniruddin, uncle of Ashraf, who has filed the complaint, says, Ashraf has neither reached his friend’s residence in Bangalore, nor come home. Ashraf had visited Dubai on a visiting visa about a month back looking for a job.
Ashraf is 5’9″ tall and of wheatish complexion with a normal build. He can converse in English, Hindi and Malayalam. The police have requested the public to convey any information if they have or may come across about the said person.
