Udupi: Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik criticised AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi and Bollywood star Salman Khan for supporting terrorist Yakub Memon, the person responsible for 1993 Mumbai blasts, at Shree Narasimhaswamy Temple, Manipal on Sunday, July 26.
vasanthsalianRecently, Asaduddin in his statement said that Yakub Memon was being hanged because of his religion and Salman tweeted supporting Yakub Memon.  Muthalik said both of them should remember that till date, 174 convicts have been executed by hanging here, and among them, only 15 were Muslims, so it is not religion, it is the crime which will be counted.

Muthalik said that both the MP and the Bollywood star have lost belief in the Indian constitution, judiciary and our system. “Salman has ‘the stardom’ given by Indians, enjoy the given privilege and stop going on the wrong path”, he said and also demanded that Asaduddin Owaisi should be charged for contempt of court and resign from the post of Andhra MP.

Talking about another issue, Sri Rama Sene chief added that the National Commission for Minorities was formed to support six communities which include, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh and Parsi’s. However from past 32 years, the commission is concentrating only on Muslims welfare and 99% facilities are limited to them. This is injustice to others, he said. In 24 states, Muslims are appointed as heads including Karnataka.

A memorandum was given to the minority welfare minister, Qamrul Islam in this regard but was of no use. He demanded that in the previous budget Rs 1,000 crore was announced by the CM for the welfare of minorities, which should be distributed equally- based on the population in all six communities, he added. He said the Sene would organize Bengaluru Chalo in August comprising all the non-Muslim minority communities’ representatives.

The financiers and financial institutions who take illegal rate of interest should be shut and the poor must be protected from the harassment by financiers.

Speaking on the bribery case he said, Lokayukta should immediately resign, as he is becoming a burden to the reputable post.

He said next year, on the occasion of decennial celebrations of Sene, year long programmes will be organised.
