Udupi: In all, 40 Muslim girls in the District abstained from appearing for the first pre-university examination on Tuesday March 29.
The students decided not to appear for the examination sans Hijab as they were hurt and disappointed by the High Court’s March 15 order, according to sources. The girl students from Kundapur, Byndoor an Udupi Government Girls PU College had earlier boycotted the practical examinations too. All the students from Basrur Sharada College have attended the examination, sources added.
It is also learnt that some of the private colleges in the District let students wear Hijab while attending examination.
