Udupi: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Development Shobha Karandlaje said on Friday March 18 that the Congress is being decimated in state after state as a result of its vote bank politics, but the party officials are not up for introspection.
Speaking to mediapersons before travelling to Karkala for Karkala Utsav she said, “The party has bitten the dust as a result of its vote bank politics.”
Karandlaje remarked that if Congress has been rejected by voters and rendered an irrelevant political party, the party leaders D. K. Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are strangling it in Karnataka. “Being a lawyer, Siddaramaiah went so far as to speak out against the Karnataka High Court’s hijab verdict. That shows his mindset,” she explained.
When asked about students not attending classes after the verdict, she said that it’s necessary to follow the law of the land. “By forcing the hijab on poor Muslim girls, they are being made scapegoats, while those from rich families are allowed to leave without it,” she added.
