Court in Udupi convicts person accused of trespassing, vandalising mosque

Udupi: The First Additional CJ and JMFC Court convicts a person accused of trespassing into the mosque territory and vandalising its property a three-year jail term. He has also been handed with a penalty of Rs. 10,000.

Ankit Poojary (31) is the convict, who is a resident of Kodankoor Village in the District. Ankit had allegedly trespassed into the Masjid e Noor Islam at Ambalapady, Adi Udupi in 2017, and stone pelted as well broke the window panes, the act which was captured in CCTV camera.

Udupi City Station had registered a case in this regard and subsequently a charge-sheet too was submitted to the court.
