Udupi: V. Sunil Kumar, the Minister In-Charge of Udupi District, has directed officials to ensure that 90 per cent of the eligible population is vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 jabs by the end of December.
He was speaking at a review meeting held at the Udupi District Deputy Commissioner’s office.
“With the first dose, 95 per cent of the eligible population has been vaccinated. Those who are due for a second dose must be identified. If anyone is hesitant to get the vaccine, senior officials should meet and convince them. By the end of December, the District should have a 90 per cent success rate in administering both doses,” the Minister added.
He also emphasised that Covid tests should be increased in all government and private hostels and residential schools.
The Minister instructed the officials to prepare a detailed report on the number of beds available in private hospitals, the number of beds that may be increased, and the district’s oxygen and ventilator facilities.
