FIR against Billava Prez for threatening MP Sorake, journo Dinesh Mattu

Udupi: An FIR has been registered against Pune Billava President Kadthala Vishwanath Poojary for allegedly threatening MP Vinay Kumar Sorake and journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu over the phone at Udupi Town Police Station on Saturday, January 11.

It is learned that during a telephonic conversation with Dinesh Amin Mattu, Pune Billava Sangha President Kadthala Vishwanath Poojary expressed his displeasure over the proposed inter-religious Billawa-Muslims Harmony Meet scheduled to be held on January 11. Poojary allegedly issued death threats to Dinesh Amin Mattu and Vinay Kumar Sorake during the conversation, the recording of which has gone viral over social media.

Meanwhile, the proposed harmony meet has been postponed to a later date.

Udyavar Gram Panchayat member Diwakar Bolje was the one who filed a complaint against Kadthala Vishwanath Poojary at the police station.
