Udupi: Even though Udupi Superintendent of Police Annamalai recently refuted rumours of transfer, reports of his transfer along with a promotion have again surfaced.
If sources are to be believed, super cop Annamalai will be promoted and transferred as DCP (West), Bengaluru by the end of this month. He will replace DCP Labhu Ram, who had earlier served as the SP of Dakhina Kannada.
However, it is also said that the transfer may be held back until March as Zilla Panchayat elections are round the corner and that the transfer may have a direct impact on the Congress votes.
Annamalai has been serving in Udupi district since two-and-a-half years. Ever since then, he has been a nightmare for all the influential people involved in illegal activities.
