Journalists blame DC for not informing media of developments

Manipal: Udupi District Journalists Association submitted a memorandum to Vinay Kumar Sorake against Udupi district commissioner allegedly for not communicating with the media on important matters.
DC has not organised any press meet regarding recently held Gram panchayath election. Due to this media could not inform public about the election held.

Former district commissioners of the district and present DCs in other districts co-operate with the media and they respond well. But the Udupi DC is not responding to our queries. Media exists for the public to impart right information. So henceforth DC should co-operate with the media, they said.

Vinay Kumar Sorake assured to intervene in this regard. The Memorandum was sent to Chief minister, Information Minister Roshan Baig, CM’s media adviser Dinesh Ameen Mattu, and State journalists association president N Raju.

When Newskarnataka contacted the DC Dr Vishal he said, I am not aware of it and I do not want to comment on this issue.

Jayakara Suvarna, president of association, general secretory Ganesh Prasad Pandelu, Rajesh Shetty, sports secretary Nazeer Polya and members were present.
