Udupi: A motorbike rider was killed while another riding pillion suffered severe injuries in an apparent accident near Sharada International Hotel at NH 66 here at around midnight. They were found by some passers-by long after the mishap.
Medical students Pawan Kumar (21) from Andhra Pradesh and Sakshi (21) from Gujarat were found lying on the road by some members of the public at around 7 am. They immediately called a social worker Vishu Shetty who along with his friends, shifted the victims to KMC Hospital, Manipal. Pawan was declared brought dead and Sakshi was admitted with grievous injuries. Reports suggest that Pawan had lost his life at around 2 am.
A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police station.
