madrassastudentUdupi: In a bizarre incident a Madrassa teacher went missing with his 21 students only to be traced several hours later in Kumta.

Mohammed Tayyib, the teacher hailing from Bihar was appointed as teacher at Jamia Madeenathul Uloom, Madeena Masjid, Karkala. On Nov 3, he went missing with the students, who are in age group of 8-16 years.

However, a brisk operation traced them in Kumta while boarding Matsyagandha Express train.

It is learnt that all the children too are from Bihar and were brought here to study in the madrassa by the accused himself. He taught them Arabic. The expense for the travel was paid by the management. However, he also took money from children’s parents. When asked by the management to return money to the parents, he apparently got unsettled and took away the children without informing madrassa management.
