Prevention of child drug abuse, trafficking: Udupi DC gets National award

Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commission (DC) Kurma Rao M. received a National award on Wednesday March 2 for his efforts towards preventing child drug abuse and trafficking.

The award was presented to Rao at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi by the DG, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

Around 20 districts across India were selected for their outstanding performance in the areas of “Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children and Illicit Trafficking.” Udupi is the only district from Karnataka to be selected.

On behalf of the DC, Wilfred D’Souza, DYO, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Udupi accepted the award.
