Kundapur: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Member of Parliment Shobha Karandlaje was gheraoed by the owners and drivers of the tippers and lorry who are protesting all over Udupi since Thursday, October 18.
Shobha had been to Koteshwar on Friday, October 19 in order to meet the lorry and tipper owners of Udupi-Kundapur who had started to protest urging a solution for the sand problem.
When Shobha requested the protesters to come under a shade as they were standing under the sunlight, the protesters refused. Instead, they forced Shobha to go near them. They later questioned the MP as to why the politicians make promises before the elections and forget about them once they are over.
The BJP block president requested the protesters to make way but none of the protesters was ready to listen. Most of the protesters belong to the BJP party.
