Udupi: The soldier from Kalathur here died while on duty at Jharkhand due to cardiac arrest on Saturday, November 6.
The deceased has been identified as Naveen Kumar Karkada (50). Naveen is survived by his wife, and two sons.
His mortal remains will be brought to Kalathur by flight via Kolkata and Mumbai from the CISF base in Jharkhand, and funeral will take place at Padur Church on the evening of Sunday November 7.
Naveen served as a head constable in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and was in CISF for past 29 years. He was due to retire next year from service, however in a tragic turn of events succumbed to cardiac arrest a year earlier.
