Udupi: Kabbal Raj, the police sub-inspector from Kota Police Station was transferred to Mangaluru on Friday, October 14.
The cop who was in the news for resigning twice from his job is said to be benefiting from the transfer as his family lives near BC Road. Kabbal Raj had served at Kota police station for nearly two years. While a section of people say that the officer was an honest and upright one, some say that he had taken sides in certain cases.
It is said that, in June earlier this year, Kabbalraj had resigned in support of police agitation seeking pay hike. The then SP Annamalai had convinced him to withdraw his resignation.
Again on September 22, he had left the resignation letter on his table before leaving without informing anyone. Neither did his superiors nor his subordinates know about his resignation until one of the constables noticed the letter, read it and informed the higher ups in Udupi district police headquarters. As per the locals, he has been under pressure over some land issue. Superintendent of Police of Udupi District, K T Balakrishna then coaxed him to again to withdraw his resignation.
