Udupi: A youth resorted to suicide by jumping into a river in Kundapur on the morning of Saturday January 28. The incident took place at Rajadi near Tallur.
The deceased has been identified as Raviraj Shetty (33), son of Kuppayya Shetty of Kanyana Village.
Raviraj, who was unwell and was addicted to alcohol, was taken to a hospital by his mother for a check-up on Saturday. He came out of the hospital without informing her and resorted to suicide by jumping into the river from a bridge on the highway at Rajady near Tallur.
The body was taken out with the help of local fishermen.
