Udupi: Shyam Anchan (59), a bakery owner and farmer, died after a tree fell on him while climbing a tree for arecanut harvesting in City.
A resident of Mathabettu Kangina Thota House near the City Bus Stand, he had climbed a tree to harvest arecanut in his house when the tree fell on him.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal where he succumbed to his injuries. He is survived by his wife and a son. He was a good farmer and ran a bakery business in partnership at Parkala.
