Udupi: Attempt to kill Masjid President made

Udupi: In a shocking incident, a group of people attempted to stab the President of a mosque at Nitte in Karkala of the District on Saturday October 8 and threatened to kill him.

Ahmed Hussain, who is the President of Nitte Badriya Jumma Masjid, organised a Milad Fest event at the mosque on the evening of Saturday ahead of Eid Milad celebrations on Sunday October 9. When Ahmed Hussain was taking guests to the event, a Jamaat Member and Former President Mohammed Halekatte brought a knife hidden in his car and tried to stab him in the back. Abdul Jabbar, the Secretary of the Mosque’s Governing Body, who came to stop him, was beaten up too and both of them were threatened to kill.

A case has been registered at Karkala Rural Police Station in this regard.
