Udupi: The cattle skull was found on the banks of the Panchagangavali River in front of Sri Ramanatha Suhasini Kula Temple at Uppinakudru Kalavinabagal in Gangolli Village of the District.

It is possible that the cow was slaughtered illegally and the head was thrown into the river. Activists of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike visited the spot and demanded that the accused be identified and strict legal action be taken against them.

Gangolli Police have taken the skull to the Police Station and took precautionary measures to ensure that the situation did not get out of hand.

Naveen has lodged a complaint with the Gangolli Police Station seeking strict legal action against the accused for stealing, slaughtering and throwing cattle head into the river water with the intention of hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and disturbing the law and order situation.

A case has been registered. The vedike has condemned the incident.
