Udupi: Cheque invalid case, accused sent to Jail for 6 months

The Special CBI Court in Jammu on Tuesday sentenced a former Executive Engineer of Northern Railways to five years' imprisonment in a bribery case

Udupi: In two separate cases, the Principal Civil Judge of Udupi and the JMFC Court was sentenced to six months in jail in the cheque invalid case against Harishchandra filed by Kamalakar N. Mendon

After hearing the arguments, the court examined the evidence and found the accused guilty in both the cases and sentenced him to six months imprisonment as well as imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000. The cheque amount was ordered to be returned to Kamalakar as compensation.

Kukkehalli Shivaprasad Hegde, Idya Balasubramanya Rao, Anupama Kumari and Pangala Jayakar Bangera argued on behalf of Kamalakar.
