Udupi: Former Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that a separate 10-point manifesto has been released to give top priority to the Coastal areas.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that Manifesto Committee Chairman G. Parameshwara released the manifesto in Mangaluru on Sunday January 22. If the State Congress comes to power, we will focus on the development of tourism mainly for the coastal areas in the manifesto. We have laid special emphasis on solving the problem of unemployment. Coastal fishermen women will get Rs. 1 lakh at zero interest rate. We will give loans, he said.

“We will form a Coastal Development Authority through which we will create jobs. Our aim is to serve the Coastal people mainly by emphasising on communal harmony and providing funds for it. In the manifesto, we have promised to provide insurance cover to 10 lakh fishermen every year. Narayana Guru Nigam will be announced soon,” Sorake said.
