Udupi: Gold worth Rs 40L stolen from railway passenger

Udupi: A railway passenger from Mumbai to Udupi lost Rs. 40 lakh worth of gold jewellery.

According to sources, Deepa Rai was on the Matsyagandha Express from Mumbai to Udupi, the jewellery was stolen from her bag on December 5.

She was travelling with her sister, brother-in-law, and parents to attend a wedding ceremony in her hometown of Katapady,

Deepa was shocked to find that the gold ornaments in the bag had been stolen when she arrived at her Katapadi home.

The stolen jewellery is estimated to be 850 gm and worth around Rs. 40 lakh.
