Udupi: District In-Charge Minister S. Angara said that Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot will grace over the inauguration of Silver Jubilee celebrations of the formation of Udupi District on August 25.
The planning of the Silver Jubilee festivities will be organised by separate committees with different responsibilities. They have been told to meet frequently to assess progress, he said.
He further noted that the activities in their respective constituencies will be overseen by local MLAs.
In response to a question regarding the dangerous footbridges, Angara said that the NAREGA scheme will be used to redevelop the footbridges in the districts.
