Udupi: Home nurse steals gold worth Rs 1.45L, arrested

Udupi: The Hiriyadka Police arrested a woman after she stole gold jewellery worth Rs. 1.45 lakh from the home where she was working.

The arrested has been identified as Rekha Hebballi Bagalakote.

According to sources, Rekha worked was working as a home nurse for Vasanth Shetty’s elderly mother Saraswathi (98). She stole Saraswathi’s gold jewellery and left the house on November 21, when nobody was home.

Vasanth Shetty filed a complaint against Rekha with the Hiriyadka police. The same day, Rekha Hebballi was arrested by the police, and they recovered all the stolen jewellery from her.

The operation to arrest Rekha was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Akshay M., and under the leadership of Police Inspector Sri Siddalingappa K. S., Additional Superintendent of Police of Udupi sub-division Sudhakar Nayak, Hiriyadka police PSI Anil B M in which ASIs Jayanth, Sundar, Head Constable Dayananda Prabhu, Raghu, Raghavendra Kamath, Brahmavara Police Circle Inspector Anantha Padmanabha, Constables Karthik Rajeshwari, Surekha, Adarsha, Bheemappa, Nithin, Nabi, Jyothi, Nagarathna, Sumalatha, and Jayalakshmi.
