Udupi: IMA concerned over increase in heart attack

Udupi: Indian Medical Association (IMA) National Vice-President Dr. B. R. Venkatachalapathi has said that the number of deaths due to heart attack is increasing from small children to middle-aged people in the recent past.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) demands that a report be submitted to the Central Government along with the figures and a study should be conducted. The IMA has already advised to take such cases seriously, he said.

A Master’s Degree in Family Medicine should be started. The rules and regulations of the National Medical Commission Bill should be amended. The Government should enact stringent law to prevent fake doctors. He said incidents of assault on doctors are on the rise and a law to protect doctors should be enacted by amending the law to ensure the safety of doctors, he said.
