Udupi: Fishermen in Kundapura are in precarious condition as the Government is not supplying kerosene required by the community properly.
The fishermen have demanded that the pending kerosene be supplied within the next 20 days and have met Opposition Leaders as well as the Government MLAs, Ministers and others. They have made a series of representations to all demanding to take steps so as to ensure that the kerosene is given to the fishermen.
Yashwant Kharvi, President of the Coastal Traditional Country Boat Fishermen’s Association Gangolli, said that if steps are not taken to release 7,000 KL of kerosene in the next three weeks, the fishermen will consider launching a NOTA campaign in the next elections through the Sankalpa Mandana Meeting.
