Udupi: Leopard spotted, leaving people panicky

Udupi: Leopards have been roaming in Badakere under Nada Gram Panchayat limits in Byndoor Taluk for the past two months.

Around 8.30 pm on Thursday January 12, motorists noticed a leopard moving on the road in Acharabettu area of Badakere Village.

The leopard has been spotted in the surrounding areas of Acharabettu for the past few days, killing more than 3 cattle.

Shivamogga MP B. Y. Raghavendra while holding a meeting with hn the officials at Hemmadi in Byndoor Constituency, had instructed the Officials to pay attention to the menace of leopards in Nada Village.
The Forest Department has so far not taken any steps to capture the leopard, the locals allege.
