Udupi: Leopard trapped in cage in Matapadi

Udupi: The leopard that has been causing panic among villagers of Matapadi for several days has finally been caught by personnel and officials from the Forest Department.

According to sources, several animals were preyed upon by the leopard. The people have made numerous requests of the Forest Department officials regarding the problem. The police set up a trap in response to the request. On the morning of Wednesday October 5, a six-year-old female leopard fell into the trap. Later, the villagers informed the forest officials.

The Zonal Forest Officer and staff went to the site, took the cage into the forest, and released the leopard.
